Bamboo Sticky Rice Serving Basket Thai Kratip Container 100% Handmade Traditional Village Handicrafts with Vegetable Plant Based Dye Coloring Shades Food Safe (Charcoal)
- 🌱 Eco-friendly: 100% natural bamboo and is also 100% food safe.
- 🌱 Freshly Crafted: Bring out crisp new flavors in your old recipe, with our beautiful fashioned serving basket. As these sticky rice baskets are hewn by a fire to dry the reed stock, a faint hint of the charred scent is innate to the fabricated cane sedge and that fragrance enriches the rice grain contents.
- 🌱 Hand Woven: Individually handcrafted and designed to endure daily use, these functional food preparation implements will make any asian cuisine taste authentic.
- 🌱 Size: Container diameter is ~5.5 inches and the height is ~6 inches in height when closed.
- 🌱 Simple to clean: Rinse and air dry in the sunlight. These “authentic natural products” are individually made, and may have slight variations in color shade, due to the organic vegetable concentration variants that occur with each rendition of the drying process.
- Please note: These are "serving baskets" and not meant for steaming/cooking sweet rice; steaming will cause the plant dye on the exterior reeds to bleed through and tint the rice.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Q: Can I steam sweet rice directly in the Panwa serving basket?
A: No, the Panwa basket is intended for storing and serving sticky rice, not for steaming or cooking. It is designed to keep sticky rice warm and fresh for longer periods.
Q: Will the food safe natural dye bleed through and color my sticky rice.
A: If you don't use the provided liners for the hot rice, it's possible that in the first few uses, the dye could bleed onto the outer edge of the rice. If you don't want to use a liner and want to prevent this, simply drop the basket into simmering water for a few minutes and the dye will bleed out. Caution as this will reduce the vibrancy of the colors as well.
Q: What should I do if the basket has an odor?
A: There is no such thing as bug free grasses and reeds, all reed materials can contain small harmless bugs. For export, we insure there are no harmful chemicals used in sterilizing the reeds, they are placed in a wood fired oven that heats the reeds and sterilizes the material. This process can sometimes leave the basket with a slight campfire like smell. If you experience this, place the basket outdoors and let it air, the wood smoke scent will decline and disappear.
Q: How do I clean the Panwa sticky rice basket?
A: In Thailand most everyone now uses a plastic bag liner to make clean up simple. Up in the northern country many people still fill the baskets without the liner, in this case just give it a quick rinse with water and then let it air dry in the sunlight or simply wipe it with a damp cloth and let it dry.
Q: How do I know this product is authentic Thai handmade?
A: There are a number of products misrepresenting Thailand as the products origin when is’s actually mass produced in a factory outside Thailand. To give you and indication click on the seller's link just below the yellow “Buy Now” button on the right, this is the location of the seller. Products made in Thailand are generally (but not always) shipped from Thailand, not through another country. Cooking products from Thailand are almost always hand made in villages, for this reason you will see small variations in the way they are made, no two individuals make things exactly alike.
